Little Big Haus : red quarry tile.

When we purchased this house I knew right away that we had to keep the original retro tile in the bathrooms and kitchen. I was torn on what to do with the entry ways, the tile was not in the best condition, but I loved the look. One day while tile shopping for a client I stumbled upon a board with vintage red quarry tiles! I knew right away that I had found my entry tile. I decided to go with 6' x 6 squares, and matching red quarry grout. They discontinued this grout color so you will have to do a little digging. I would suggest terra-cotta grout as an alternative, or Haystack ( sanded ) would also be a great solution! Overall I am really happy with how it turned out, it feels original to the home and that was the goal!

This is me as a small child in my grandparents home, peep the tiles. Mid-century modern homes run deep in my DNA and I still hate pants… clearly nothing has changed! x
