Client Spotlight : The Smiths.
When I got my hands on this condo it was extremely dark, covered in popcorn ceilings, orange peel walls, and really banged up bamboo floors. The kitchen was from 1981 - which can be cool, but this one was not. BUT the potential was endless. The goal here was to brighten up the space, and let those 20 foot ceilings shine! My client was a well established writer who bought this condo a few years back and was looking for a refresh. He wanted to rent it for 2 years with the intent to sell after he recouped his renovation budget. I actually had the perfect “rent to buy” couple in mind! Once I knew who would be moving into the space, I knew exactly what they needed to make this a functional space for them. Jaclyn and Parker are both creative lifestyle influencers. They needed a home to create. I kept everything very white and bright. I went with a light grey seamless concrete, and switched it up with some white oak in the loft. All of the light fixtures were custom sprayed in matte black to match the stairs. The master bathroom got the biggest transformation, what was once chopped into 2 rooms was opened up into one large space. I knew taking baths was important to them so I made sure to get a deep soaker. I used a stacked square tile for a cohesive flow with the guest bathroom. My client tiled the guest bathroom with is father and did not want to demolish it so I decided we should spray it instead. It turned out amazing, this is a really great way to give your bathroom a refresh on a budget. Overall I would say this space turned out pretty perfect for these two creatives!
Since purchasing the home they have really put their stamp on it! The space has been featured on Apt2b.
